Frequently asked questions about Skin Rejuvenation

How does an RF Microneedling treatment proceed?

When the patient arrives, numbing ointment is applied to the treatment site. This ointment will take effect for 15-30 min. Then the skin will be disinfected. The practitioner will do some test shots first, to see to what energy is tolerable for the patient. Keep in mind, the higher the energy, the better the result!

What areas can be treated with RF Microneedling?

Any skin on the face and body can be treated. The most popular areas are the face, neck and décolleté.

What can you expect after an RF Microneedling treatment?

After the treatment, you may look red and swollen. This lasts for at least 3 hours and then subsides. The clear microchannels created by the treatment remain open for 4-6 hours. It is important that you apply an antibiotic cream after the treatment to avoid infection. You can choose a very intensive treatment or a less intensive treatment. The results are obviously better with the intensive treatment. It is a little more sensitive and the skin will be a little redder, BUT the results are all the better 🙂 .

When will I see results with fractionated RF?

Fractional RF patients often describe a glow on their skin from day one, but after 2 weeks they really begin to see the results. This will only increase over the next 3 months as collagen and elastin stimulation takes place!

Can RF Microneedling be used on darker skin types?

Most skin types can be treated including tanned skin and dark skin, i.e. from Fitzpatrick I-VI.

How many Microneedling + RF treatments do I need?

We recommend a package of 5 treatments, but a minimum of 3. After that, maintenance can be as often as you want. A minimum of twice a year is advised.

Pre- and aftercare of a Microneedling + RF treatment

BEFORE: take collagen supplements (available from us), take these at least 4 weeks before your treatment and up to 3 months after treatment use SPF Avoid sun, solarium or fake tanning for 2 weeks before treatment Start collagen supplements at least 4 weeks before the RF Microneedling treatment, you can purchase these from us If you have cold sores, start taking Aciclovir 200 mg 3 times a day at least 4 days before your session NA: Take collagen supplements (available from us), take them at least 4 weeks before your treatment and up to 3 months after the treatment Always use an SPF 50 in winter and summer Until 3 days after the treatment you will apply an antibiotic ointment so that you do not get infections after the treatment continue to take your collagen supplements for at least 3 months after your treatment no swimming or heavy exercise for 2 days after the treatment no make-up until the next day, we recommend waiting 3 days. if you are following "The Sarasin Glow" protocol, you will also receive a prescription for the ointment to be used afterwards

Why are medical peels classified into levels?

Some peels work slightly more superficially than others, so depending on the desired result, the specialist will determine the desired depth.

What are the different levels of medical peels?

Very superficial = (superficial stratum corneum) Increases the uniformity of skin tone and provides a more "luminous" appearance. Will only benefit the éclat. Superficial = (epidermal to basal layer) Stimulates epidermal growth by removing the stratum corneum. This peel will cause skin peeling, similar to if you had a sunburn. From this depth we speak of the medical peels: Medium (papillary dermis) Affecting the papillary dermis, which can cause significant flaking. One gets superficial dermal inflammation. The epidermis will also be completely removed with this peel and thanks to the inflammatory reaction of the papillary dermis, one will regain a firmer dermis in the healing phase. Deep (reticular dermis) Deep chemical exfoliation leads to an inflammatory reaction of the reticular dermis, and this causes production of collagen and elastin.

How many times a year can you have a medical peel performed?

Depending on the depth of the peel, we recommend a maximum of 3 peels per year. At Sarasin Clinic we only work with the medical peels (they have a low PH value) so it is not allowed to use them too much. We therefore also do not allow more than 3 medical peels per year. Of course, it remains important to continue to stimulate the skin to divide and produce collagen and elastin. Once this stimulation is lost, the result will again visibly diminish. Our Sarasin Portocol will ensure that we permanently stimulate the skin! There is the possibility to do peels on the one hand and on the other hand to stimulate the skin permanently on its own by Microneedling + RF.

Quality and safety of medical peels

Each Mesopeel has been given a drug and medical device registration number (AEMPS) by the Spanish agency All peels of the Mesopeel pharmacy group comply with European standards. They have ISO 22716:2007, 9001:2008 and 13485:2012 for quality control management systems.

Who is HIFU treatment suitable for?

For people with aging skin from thirty to sixty years of age.

From when is the result of a HIFU treatment visible?

Immediately after one treatment, you can already see a visibly improved skin condition. Ultimately, the lasting effect will only be visible after an average of six months.

Why do some people experience better results than others?

The result depends on your skin, how quickly the skin is stimulated and new collagen is produced which causes the cells to repair themselves. This means that the result is eighty percent dependent on the recovery after the treatment!

How do you ensure optimal results from your HIFU treatment yourself?

The sustainability of the treatment begins even before you undergo the treatment itself by starting a course of collagen supplements. At Sarasin Clinic, we strongly urge the importance of collagen supplements for this reason. Start the regimen at least one month before your treatment and continue it for at least four months after. Moreover, it makes sense that people who maintain an unhealthy lifestyle - think smoking, excessive sun exposure, etc. - will experience weaker and less lasting results from the treatment.

What is the recommended frequency for HIFU treatment?

Women over the age of 50 are best to have this non-surgical HIFU treatment performed twice a year. Wondering what the recommended frequency is for you? Discuss it during a consultation with one of our experts.

What are the side effects of HIFU treatment?

At worst, the treated area may be swollen. Because of this, pain, blisters or bruising are very rare. Should such side effects do occur, know that they are transient. Of course, if you have serious concerns, you may always contact our experts.

What does post-treatment HIFU treatment involve?

It is mandatory to take a collagen supplement for up to six months after treatment. This supplement is available from us. Do not cool the face in the first four hours after treatment as well as do not rinse with warm water the first day after treatment. No sauna and massage for the face for two weeks. Use only mineral makeup during the first week after treatment and use a moisturizing mask for at least one week. You can purchase these from us, for example. And finally, do not eat spicy foods for one month. Finally, the skin may turn a little red and swell slightly after the treatment, but this is normal. These side effects disappear after one to two days. If the treated area flakes a little on the second day, this means that the skin is heating up and shrinking. This is also normal and disappears quickly.

Treatment recommendations

At least 2 weeks between treatments / If using Roaccutane or skin-thinning medication, no treatment should be done / For men, it is recommended not to shave within 24 hours of treatment / Treatment is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding / We recommend not doing a peel on sun-tanned skin (min. 4 weeks between)

A medical peel is not suitable for:

Inflammations, infections (such as active acne or active herpes) / Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus / Immunological disorders, impaired immune system / Cancer / Keloid formation / Renal, respiratory, hepatic or cardiac insufficiency / Fresh scars or wounds / Hypertrophic scars / A history of radiatherapy treatments in the face / Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the peel / Pregnancy or breastfeeding / Damaged skin, recent waxing, use of depilatory cream / After using isotretinoin (Roaccutane), peeling can be done after six months / After using Tretinoin (Vitamin A acid), glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, the permeability of the skin may be increased

The first days after peeling

Day 1: Your skin feels dry but little is visible yet / Day 2: Your skin feels dry and tight. Dark spots may be visible in places where you first had pigment / Day 3: The skin begins to peel. First around your mouth and from there it continues. Any spots also disappear. Keep in mind that shedding will usually take 2-3 days. After that, there are often some remaining peels around your nose and hairline. / With heavier peels, peeling is necessary and inevitable while with lighter peels, your skin will only peel minimally.

What can you do yourself for maximum results?

Your skin is fragile and prone to pigment reappearance after peeling. Therefore, it is important that you strictly adhere to the "Post Peel Care.
