Who can a Liquid Facelift procedure be performed on?

Why do faces look older? A very simple question you would think, but it is due to several factors. Faces age because of wrinkles and lines, brown spots, sagging skin... All these factors contribute to an aging face.

Frequently asked questions about a Liquid Facelift

How is a liquid facelift performed?

Because each patient's needs vary, there is no standard treatment protocol for a liquid facelift. Our aesthetic physicians begin by assessing the patient's face and then ask about his or her medical history and wishes. The amount of Fillers used depends on the doctors' assessment and the patient's wishes or aesthetic goals. In some cases, the doctor will use a local anesthetic, which can either be a surgical numbing ointment or an injection of xylocaine (compare like at the dentist). At Sarasin Clinic, we usually use Fillers that already contain a dose of lidocaine (anesthetic). Local application of "ice packs" can also reduce pain and swelling. After everything has been discussed in detail with the patient, we will first clean and disinfect the skin. If necessary, anesthesia will be applied, either through an ointment or a small prick. Then the doctor will proceed to inject the Fillers. On average, for a full liquid facelift you will use 3 to 4 syringes of filler.

What is the recovery process after a liquid face filler?

Bruising and swelling lasting about 48 hours are common. In some cases, patients notice that one side of the face seems to improve more than the other. This is usually because the patient's facial features are somewhat asymmetrical to begin with. This usually resolves on its own after a few weeks. If the doctor deems it necessary, you will be scheduled for a check-up about 2 weeks after your liquid facelift. Follow-up treatments for patients receiving lipFillers are usually necessary. We provide patients with detailed post-treatment instructions and safety information regarding their treatment.

How long does the effect of a liquid face filler last?

This is a common question and the answer depends on several factors: the anatomy and metabolism of a patient's face the volume of fillers used, both the amount of filler injected and the type of filler Most patients who are satisfied with the results usually come back after 6 months to inject some more, if necessary. After that, you are good for several years. If the patient desires even more volume, it is recommended to schedule a follow-up appointment a few weeks after the treatment and inject until the desired result is achieved. Follow-up appointments are then recommended as with patients who were satisfied with the results from the beginning.
