Lipofilling is ideal if the fat obtained by liposuction can be reinserted elsewhere. The obtained fat can, after purification, be used to fill places where there is a (relative) shortage.

What do you need to know?
Most frequently this is used for the breast (lipofilling breast), but also for the face(facelift and neck lift and skin rejuvenation) and vagina rejuvenation(vagina correction) this fatty tissue can be used. This can also be used for reconstructions, for example, after breast cancer.
The survival of the fat depends on the tissue it ends up in. This is why, for example, one cannot go from an A cup breast to 2 times its size immediately because there will not be enough blood supply. The fat that does grow in during a first session will provide additional blood supply and space in the next session so that the fat will grow in better the second time.
With buttock augmentation, there is usually much more space and blood supply anyway to achieve the intended result in 1 go.
The effect of liposuction and lipofilling together (liposcuplture) can produce great changes. For example, in buttock augmentation with your own fat tissue, when the flanks and the area above the sacrum are properly emptied, an additional lifting or enlarging effect can be quite spectacular.
The great advantage of this technique is that there are no long-term complications because it is your own tissue. This is in contrast to implants.
The disadvantage is that fatty tissue must be present. Although this is often requested it is NOT possible to use someone else's.
Aftercare of lipofilling
Lipofilling is not considered very painful. For possible pain you can take a paracetamol. If this does not help sufficiently or if the pain increases, it is best to contact the plastic surgeon.
A white paper plaster and/or a special adhesive bandage is applied over the closed wound(s) after surgery. After two days, you may shower again. The plasters will not come off in the shower. We recommend that you do not bathe, as the plasters may soften and come off. After (usually) seven to ten days, the plasters are removed at the outpatient clinic. After surgery, some wound fluid does leak from the small skin incisions. Usually this stops after one to two days. You can take this into account in bed by using underpads or tarps so that the mattress does not get dirty.
You may wear special supportive, elastic clothing over the fat removal area day and night for several weeks. If you want to shower or wash, you can of course take off this undergarment. For several weeks after surgery, you may experience painful bruising, swollen skin and numbness. This is partly because the area is often filled a little extra. After about two to six weeks, the bruising and swelling will go away on their own. Try to take it easy for the first three to six weeks. You should also avoid sports in the first six weeks to avoid contact with or pressure on the wound(s).
