BTX, what is the best age to start it? Will I not
become addicted or where does this end?
These are common questions asked in our clinic. And rightly so! Be sure to read on if you are also asking yourself these questions.
*Botox is a brand name for a general product category called muscle relaxants.
Best age to start BTX:
Most people start botox when they notice that the mimic wrinkles are too severe or when they see that the mimic wrinkles remain even when they are relaxed.
Often they then get the comment "are you angry" or "what's wrong?"
The best age to start BTX? Well you can't put an age on this.
There are those who come around age 27, and there are those who get their first BTX prick at age 60.
So when do you spray best to ensure that your mimic wrinkles are less likely to remain in a relaxed state?
To be honest when you put your first BTX around age 60, you are actually too late to spray away the "deep grooves/wrinkles" that have already formed. You can soften them through BTX but you won't get rid of them.
There is no set age to start BTX, it depends on your personal facial expressions and facial expressions. People who tell very expressive stories or have non verbal facial expressions are more likely to show wrinkles in a relaxed face. For example, we have clients who come for BTX at age 27. Likewise, we have people who place their first BTX prick at age 60.
The golden rule is: when it bothers you to such an extent, do something about it.
We do notice that more and more young people are asking for BTX more quickly.
They then rather want to prevent wrinkles from remaining in the skin, should they wait too long before having a BTX prick. We then call this rather preventive or baby BTX.
On average, our clients start BTX around age 32.
This way, you make sure that you can have the BTX placed very naturally, so that you still have facial expressions but that you can draw the facial lines (wrinkles) less deeply into the skin so that they will also not be visible in a relaxed face.
Every how many times should I place BTX?
Treatment with BTX will need to be repeated every 3-5 months if you want to ensure that the wrinkles stay away.
Keep in mind that if you wait too long to repeat your treatment, the working time of your BTX will also decrease. In other words, it is better to come every 4 months than to have your BTX placed once a year, because then your results of your BTX will not last as long.
Everything depends enormously on your own preference. For example, someone who prefers to have as little mimicry as possible will prefer to come every 3 months. While someone who likes to still have movement is more likely to want to work preventively and have BTX placed every 5 months.
