Like buttock augmentation, hip augmentation or hip augmentation can be achieved with prostheses or your own fat.

Technique with prostheses

Thanks to hip implants, you will achieve desired results immediately. Through a small incision at the Hip (which is almost invisible), the desired implant is inserted.

Which implant you prefer will be discussed with your surgeon. There are different volumes and sizes. Depending on your desired result, the surgeon will make a choice.

Hip implants are slightly firmer than breast implants; they consist of a viscous firm gel. Thus, the gel will not be able to spread in the body should a rupture occur.

Disadvantage of hip augmentation with implants :

  • when not properly placed or extreme emaciation you can feel implants
  • Risk of infection, rupture or unnatural sensation
  • risk of asymmetry in height

Advantage of hip augmentation with implants :

  • one can immediately obtain the desired volume
  • solid

Usually, the surgeon will opt for surgery with prostheses but if you want a subtle improvement and do not want a foreign material in your body then it is better to opt for surgery with your own fat.

Engineering with your own fat

In the places where you have enough fat, the surgeon will suck away fat through liposuction. For example, he will usually suck away the fat at the waist so that you get a better projection of the hips resulting in a nicer and tighter waist. The fat on the inside of the thighs is also sucked away.

Once the surgeon has been able to extract the maximum volume of fat, the fat is filtered. The filtered fat is injected back into the area where you need volume. In this case, at the hip socket.

When the fat is injected in the desired location, only a portion will also survive and effectively begin to grow in. A realistic view is that when you do a session with your own fat the surgeon can only inject a certain volume depending on the amount of decrease and about 25%-50% of this volume will disappear back.

Although a lot is written about this and false promises are made, the survival of the injected fat depends mainly on the area where it is injected.Overloading this leads to increased breakdown of the fat, or even inflammation and abscesses, so this makes no sense. You can therefore expect to have a Hip enlargement of 150 to 300 cc per hip per press session. Note : only when you have sufficient fat!

If this is not the case, then hip implants will be opted for.

Disadvantage of own fat:

  • You must have sufficient fat
  • When you want a lot of volume at the hips, this cannot always be achieved in 1 session and you will need several procedures.

Benefit of own fat:

  • You lose fat in the places where you have too much
  • You will obtain a better waist anyway because of the liposculpture that will be performed to obtain the fat
  • Super natural result
  • No foreign material in your body everything is body's own
