Sarasin Clinic offers a technique using your own fat tissue and a technique using buttock implants. The combination of both is also possible.

In the places where you have enough fat, the surgeon will suck away fat through liposuction. For example, he will usually suction away the fat at the waist so that you get a nicer and tighter waist. The fat on the inside of the thighs will also be sucked out.

Once the surgeon has been able to extract the maximum volume of fat, the fat is filtered. The filtered fat is injected back into the area where you need volume. In this case, in the buttocks.

When the fat is injected in the desired location, only a portion will also survive and effectively grow in. A realistic picture is that when you do a session with your own fat, the surgeon can only inject a certain volume depending on the amount of decrease and that about 25%-50% of this volume will disappear again. Although much is written about this and false promises are made, the survival of the injected fat depends mainly on the area where it is injected. Overloading this leads to increased breakdown of the fat, or even inflammation and abscesses, so this makes no sense.

So you can expect to have a buttock augmentation of 200 to 300 cc per session. Please note that this is only possible if you have sufficient fat! If this is not the case, we will opt for buttock prostheses.

Advantage of buttock augmentation own fat:

Disadvantage of buttock augmentation with your own fat:

• You must have sufficient fat
• When you want a lot of volume in the buttocks, this cannot always be achieved in 1 session and you will therefore need several procedures.

Advantage of buttock augmentation with buttock prostheses:

Disadvantage of gluteal augmentation with buttock prostheses:

• when not properly placed or extreme emaciation you can feel the implants
• Risk of infection, rupture or unnatural sensation

Of course, there is also the possibility of combining the buttock implants with the technique using your own fat.

Course of surgery with buttock prostheses:

• A light sleep anesthetic will ensure that you feel nothing from the surgery
• Through a minimal incision in the buttock fold of up to 4 cm, the prosthesis is inserted into the buttocks
• These are placed in the upper half of the buttocks.
• The incision is sutured with self-digesting threads you do not need to have them removed afterwards
• You will be given antibiotics for several days to avoid risk of infection and rejection
• Right after surgery, you will be given a firm tape around the buttocks to keep the implants from shifting and to stem any minor bleeding.
• The operation takes a maximum of 2h
• You will awaken in recovery were our nurse will care for you
• Usually you can return home the same day but for large prostheses or in combination prosthesis with your own fat, the surgeon prefers an overnight stay so we can do a proper observation.
