HIFU or high-intensity focused ultrasound
HIFU is short for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. The aesthetic application of HIFU is aimed at tightening and firming the skin without surgery and is used both for the skin of the face and that of the body.
During this non-invasive treatment, we use sound waves penetrate into the deep dermal layers of the skin. There the sound waves are converted into heat. The cells in those skin layers become so hot that they are eventually destroyed.
