How is lip augmentation performed?

Before starting we will take pictures of the lips and discuss in detail what your wishes are.
Then we will apply the numbing ointment which will ensure that you will have no pain during the procedure.
The doctor will inject with a very fine needle. Next, you may have to massage your lips a little to get a good spread of the lip filler.
If desired, you may be given a "cold pack" on the lips to minimize the temporary swelling caused by the procedure. The treatment takes a maximum of 30 min.

How much filler is needed for lip augmentation?

Our doctors assess your face to choose the dose for lip injections that will produce the desired results. We usually inject 1 ml of filler at a time and then follow up with monthly injections until you are satisfied with the size of your lips. The price of 1 ml of filler is €280.

Is there downtime with lipFillers?

Some redness and swelling is expected after lip filler injections; the upper lip usually swells slightly more than the lower lip. The swelling usually lasts for 48 hours.

Doet een lipfiller behandeling pijn?

De meeste mensen ervaren weinig tot geen pijn, zeker dankzij de verdovende crème die we aanbrengen voor de behandeling. Maar eerlijk is eerlijk: de gevoeligheid verschilt van persoon tot persoon. Sommigen voelen enkel wat druk, anderen ervaren korte momentjes van prikken of spanning. Gelukkig duurt het maar enkele minuten en is het goed te verdragen.

Hoe lang blijft het resultaat zichtbaar?

Gemiddeld blijft het resultaat 6 tot 9 maanden zichtbaar. Dat hangt af van je stofwisseling, levensstijl en hoeveel filler er werd gebruikt.

Krijg ik meteen volle lippen?

Het effect is direct zichtbaar, maar je lippen kunnen de eerste dagen wat gezwollen zijn. Na ongeveer twee weken zie je het eindresultaat.

Hydrateert een lipfiller ook mijn lippen?

Ja! Hyaluronzuur trekt vocht aan, waardoor je lippen niet alleen voller maar ook zachter en minder droog worden.

Is een touch-up later nodig?

Soms wel, zeker als je het resultaat wil onderhouden. We bekijken dit altijd individueel.

Kan je lipfillers laten plaatsen als je koortsblazen hebt of gehad hebt, en wat moet je doen?

Ja. Een (vroegere) koortsblaas is geen reden om geen lipfillers te laten plaatsen. Koortsblazen worden veroorzaakt door het herpes simplex virus, dat bij veel mensen latent aanwezig is. Een lipfillerbehandeling kan dit virus tijdelijk reactiveren, maar veroorzaakt het niet.

Wat is belangrijk om te doen?

  • Meld tijdens het consult altijd als je ooit koortsblazen hebt gehad.
  • Heb je op dit moment een actieve koortsblaas, dan wordt de behandeling uitgesteld tot alles volledig genezen is.
  • Krijg je regelmatig koortsblazen, dan kan de arts preventieve antivirale medicatie voorschrijven rond de behandeling om het risico op een uitbraak te verkleinen.
  • Voel je na de behandeling tinteling, jeuk of een branderig gevoel aan de lippen, neem dan onmiddellijk contact op met de kliniek zodat snel kan worden ingegrepen.

Met de juiste screening, timing en nazorg kan lipfiller veilig en gecontroleerd worden uitgevoerd, ook als je in het verleden koortsblazen hebt gehad.

Doet een lipfiller behandeling pijn?

De initiële zwelling en gevoeligheid verdwijnen doorgaans binnen 24 tot 48 uur. Kleine blauwe plekjes kunnen tot een week zichtbaar blijven. Het definitieve resultaat — zonder zwelling, met de filler volledig ingetreden — zie je na ongeveer twee weken.

Kan ik sporten of naar de sauna?

Intensief sporten vermijd je op de dag van de behandeling zelf. Sauna, stoomcabine en warme baden zijn de eerste week af te raden, omdat intense hitte de zwelling versterkt en het herstel vertraagt.

Wat met make-up en direct zonlicht?

Make-up op de lippen mag na minimaal 4 uur en pas als eventuele prikgaatjes volledig gesloten zijn. Directe zonblootstelling en zonnebank vermijd je de eerste week na de behandeling.

Zijn blauwe plekken en zwelling normaal?

Blauwe plekken en zwelling zijn normaal en verdwijnen vanzelf. Koel je lippen met een coldpack (niet rechtstreeks op de huid), neem paracetamol bij pijn, en vermijd alcohol en ibuprofen. Arnicazalf kan helpen bij blauwe plekken, maar bespreek dit met je arts.

Wanneer zie ik het definitieve resultaat?

Direct na de behandeling zie je al een resultaat, maar dat beeld is vertekend door de zwelling. Na ongeveer twee weken is de zwelling volledig gezakt en zie je hoe je lippen er echt uitzien.
