Cheekbone filler

The doctor will assess the face and decide on the best dose after taking a history and examining the patient. If a patient has a history of complications with Fillers, or if their budget is small or they want a more subtle result, a smaller dose may be chosen to begin with. The dosage needed for cheek fillers is highly variable. Some patients will be satisfied with 1 ml, others will need 4 ml to get the results they want. At Sarasin Clinic, we usually take a constructive approach. For example, we start by placing up to 2 ml in the cheekbones. After a few weeks, you will come for a check-up and we can add more injections if needed until you achieve the desired results. Usually our patients state: "I liked the swelling after the last treatment and was disappointed when it went away". Then we advise the patient to inject another 2 ml and repeat this until they don't like the swelling after that :).

When we only pierce with our very fine needle, an anesthetic ointment is not necessary. In our Fillers there is a small amount of anesthetic so that you only feel the needle point and then you will not feel anything else. If a cannula is used, you can opt for a local puncture with pure anesthetic before the cannula is inserted into the skin. Ice is used to reduce pain and reduce the chance of bruising.

First of all, everything is discussed in detail regarding your wishes about the result to be obtained. The doctor will also advise you what is appropriate for your face. Our doctors have an excellent aesthetic eye, so they can advise you which techniques are best for you. After everything has been discussed, the face will be disinfected. The doctor will now inject filler through a small puncture. If a cannula is used, a small injection of local anesthetic is injected into the skin and then they use a fine needle to make a small hole in the skin where the cannula is inserted.

Since everything is first discussed in detail with you and only then is the placement of the filler done, please keep in mind that you are at least 30 to 45 minutes in the clinic. Even if you have several fillers placed, you will spend longer with us. The placement of the filler itself is always quite smooth.

There may be redness and swelling! At worst, you may also have a small bruise at the level of the puncture site. The cheeks may have a "sharper" appearance, but as the swelling subsides after 2 days, the sharpness will lessen and give way to a more natural appearance. Patients often like this swelling in the first few days :).

Because it is a medical procedure, there are risks associated with a filler. Bruising at the insertion site may occur. Swelling occurs in the injection area anyway, this is transient. This usually disappears after 48 h. Asymmetry: Sometimes one side is treated better than the other, this is usually because the patient is asymmetrical to begin with. The asymmetry usually resolves itself within a few weeks should this not be the case you can certainly visit for a minor side effect. Infection is a very rare complication, but always a possibility when a needle goes into the skin. Necrosis (blood vessel is blocked, disrupting the blood supply to the skin) is very rare. This can lead to scarring. We always have Hyalase available should this occur we can anticipate immediately! Blindness due to the clogging of a blood vessel is rare. Need for further treatment: cheekbone fillers often require additional injections, especially since at Sarasin Clinic we take a constructive approach. Thus, several syringes of the product may be required for the patient to achieve their desired results.

Avoid the following: Make up before 4 a.m. Heavy exertion that day Acidic products for 24 hours Spas, saunas, hot yoga for 1 week after treatment

The effect of the filler will be evident immediately. Immediately afterwards, there may be redness and swelling. The cheeks may have a "sharper" appearance, but when the swelling subsides after 2 days it gives way to a more natural appearance. Patients often like the swelling in the first few days. Most of the swelling from the filler will be gone by 2-3 days after the procedure. Even up to 2-4 weeks after the procedure, minor swelling may still be present. Sometimes asymmetry will occur because one side is more swollen or bruised. Therefore, it is important to wait a few weeks first. Usually, problems with symmetry will resolve automatically by the time of the checkup appointment. If this is not the case, you can update the asymmetry at the checkup appointment. It does not make sense to come for a checkup very early to treat asymmetry, because there is often swelling associated with it, and thus the final result will not be visible until at least 4 weeks have passed. Treating asymmetry too early can lead to further asymmetry. Most patients are asymmetrical before the injection, we try to improve this asymmetry.

The answer to this is highly individual and depends on the patient's anatomy, metabolism, dose, placement, product, etc. When the patient is satisfied with the results after 1 month (i.e. there has been sufficient filling). Are re-treated on average after 8 months to 1 year. If the patient is still not satisfied with the results after 1 month (i.e. more filler is needed to achieve the desired results), then more filler should be injected every 1-3 months until the desired results are achieved. From once you have achieved the desired results, you will enjoy your filler for approximately 8 months to 1.5 years. These are averages because fillers are broken down by our own bodies and in some people this happens faster than in others.
