Een neusfiller kan verbetering bieden voor:

  • A flat nasal bridge

Often patients present with a flat or low nasal bridge. It is a fairly simple procedure to inject the filler to lift the bridge of the nose.

  • The shape of the nose

How much nasal filler do I need?

The dose required for nasal filler is variable. Usually you will have enough with 1 treatment. In general, you never need more than 1 ml of nasal filler to achieve a beautiful aesthetic result. In our clinic we only work with 1 ml syringes. In any case, in the first session we never use more than 1 ml of filler. Usually this is more than enough. We do have our patients come for a check-up after 2 weeks to see if everything is okay and if extra filler is needed.

Pain relief in nasal filler

Pain relief during a nasal filler is not necessary; you will only feel a local small prick. There is a small dose of anesthetic in the filler so you can undergo the treatment quite comfortably. If a cannula is used, a local anesthetic is used before the cannula is inserted into the skin. Then you will only feel the prick of the anesthetic and then nothing else. But usually the use of a cannula is not necessary.

How does a nasal filler treatment proceed?

When you come to our Clinic, you will first sign an informed consent. This is a document that provides you with all the necessary info about injectables. Together with the doctor you can discuss what your wishes are and what your options are. If a cannula is used, a small injection of local anesthetic is injected into the skin, then the small cannula is inserted into the skin and the filler is injected through the cannula.

What are the side effects or risks of nasal fillers?

Bruising occurs in a significant number of cases. Minor swelling may occur in the injection area. The worst swelling lasts about 48 hours. Asymmetry: Sometimes one side is treated better than the other; this is more common because the patient is asymmetrical to begin with. Sometimes it is because one side lifts more easily than the other. Infection is a very rare complication, but always a possibility when the needle goes into the skin. Necrosis (= a blood vessel being blocked , disrupting the blood supply to the skin) is very rare. This can lead to scarring. Unfortunately, the nose is more susceptible to this complication than other areas of the face, for example, the cheeks and chin. We have Hyalase available anyway (this dissolves the filler immediately so that the blood vessel is no longer blocked and this complication can be avoided) Blindness is rare but a devastating complication Prolonged redness or facial capillaries in the area after injection: this may be permanent, but can resolve as the filler dissolves. This is very rare. Need for further treatment: often with noses, one will sometimes need multiple treatments with the product to obtain the patient's desired effect.

What is the aftercare after nasal filler treatment?

What can you expect after a nasal filler treatment?

The effect of the nasal stuffing will be immediate. There may be bruising, redness and swelling. Most of the swelling from the nasal filler will be gone by 2-3 days after the procedure. There may still be minor swelling up to 4 weeks after the procedure. So be sure to keep in mind that the real final result will not be visible until after 4 weeks. Should you experience a small asymmetry in the meantime, please wait until 4 weeks after your first treatment. Usually it will resolve itself when all the swelling from the treatment has disappeared.

How long do the results of a nasal filler last?

The answer to this is highly individual and depends on the patient's anatomy, metabolism, dose, placement, and the product used. Usually, the filler will remain in the nose for an average of 8 months to 1 year.
