Although the results - and their durability - always vary from person to person, we can say that a treatment with tear trough fillers maintains its effect for up to 6 months. So you would do well to book a new treatment in good time to maintain optimal results.

Effect van een traangoot filler

Tear trough fillers are used by plastic and aesthetic surgeons primarily to get rid of dark bags or circles under your eyes. They are also used to tighten the skin under the eyes. Please note that this is not at all the same as eyelid surgery, where the skin of the eyelids is effectively removed.

Unlike other filler treatments, tear trough fillers are not only used against an aging process. This treatment has also proven to be useful in young people. Young men and women can suffer from dark circles and puffiness around the eyes at a very young age. In this case, the plastic surgeon will apply a tear trough filler, which will tighten and lighten the skin around the eyes. Small "fat pockets" under the eyes can also be addressed with this treatment.

In each of the above cases, you can assume that the effect of the treatment will last for about 6 months. So after those 6 months, it is best to book another treatment if you want the positive effects to last.

However, a tear trough filler is not a solution for wrinkles around the eyes, what we call crow's feet. To get rid of crow's feet, opt for treatment with muscle relaxants (which you may be more familiar with under the brand name "Botox").

Prijs van een traangoot filler behandeling

As indicated above, a tear trough filler treatment maintains its effect for about six months. The cost of one treatment can be found below:

tear trough filler: Price per syringe of 1ml. Usually one treatment is enough to get a good result. If you need more, we will discuss this beforehand.

So you always know in advance what the cost of the treatment will be.
We never open a second syringe without the patient's consent.

Each tear trough filler treatment contains 1 syringe of exactly 1 ml of filler. However, it is not the case that the doctor will inject the entire contents of the syringe in every person. In some cases, only a small addition is sufficient, or a different amount must be injected on both sides of the face.

We are often asked if the remaining contents of a syringe cannot be saved for a subsequent treatment. However, this is something that can or should never be done simply for hygienic reasons. At Sarasin Clinic, we use a new syringe for every treatment. Any remaining filler is destroyed.

How much filler do I need?

To determine how much filler to inject into your tear trough to solve the problems you are experiencing, an appointment with the doctor/plastic surgeon is necessary. He or she will discuss with you what result you want to achieve and estimate what treatment will be necessary. Also during the operation he or she will constantly inform you about the progress of the treatment.
