Lipofilling lippen

Complications can always occur after treatment. Post-bleeding (bleeding from or out of the surgical area) or wound infection are the most common complications, even though they are rare. The following specific complications are known from lipofilling: There is a very small chance of a more than normal hematoma after treatment. This hematoma disappears on its own. The wounds will form small scars. Initially these are somewhat red, later they often turn white in color. Often they are hardly noticeable. Very rarely, inflammation occurs. The area is then red and swollen. Always contact the plastic surgeon. A course of antibiotics is then necessary, sometimes in combination with relieving the inflammation with a small incision or a thick needle. Very rarely, an allergic reaction to the anesthetic occurs. Sometimes residual swelling and hardening may be present that takes weeks or sometimes months to disappear. Sensation in the skin of the treated area and near the scars is often reduced or disappeared. This causes few complaints. It often recovers slightly over years. After lipofilling, contact us if : persistent bleeding from the wound or surgical area significantly increased swelling of the wound or operation area pain, if the painkillers do not help or the pain even increases redness and some swelling of the wound feeling of being sick and/or fever, higher than 38° (measured through the anus) persistent nausea inability to urinate while drinking normally worry or doubt

Lipofilling is not considered very painful. For possible pain you can take a paracetamol. If this does not help sufficiently or if the pain increases, it is best to contact the plastic surgeon. A white paper bandage and/or a special adhesive bandage will be applied over the closed wound(s) after the operation. After two days you may shower again. The plasters will not come off in the shower. We recommend that you do not bathe, as the plasters may soften and come off. After (usually) seven to ten days, the plasters are removed at the outpatient clinic. After surgery, some wound fluid does leak from the small skin incisions. Usually this stops after one to two days. You can take this into account in bed by using underpads or tarps so that the mattress does not get dirty. You may wear special supportive, elastic clothing over the fat removal area for several weeks, day and night. If you want to shower or wash, you can of course take off this undergarment. For several weeks after surgery, you may experience painful bruising, swollen skin and numbness. This is partly because the area is often filled a little extra. After about two to six weeks, the bruising and swelling will go away on their own. Try to take it easy for the first three to six weeks. You should also avoid sports in the first six weeks to prevent contact with or pressure on the wound(s).
