Microneedling + RF or fractional RF are high frequency electromagnetic short wavelengths. Microneedling creates clear microchannels in the superficial layers of the skin and causes skin regeneration and collagen stimulation.

RF stands for Radio Frequency. Radio frequency leads to thermal energy. So the dermis layer of the skin is actually warmed up so that collagen and elastin are produced. This will remodel the tissues, giving skin tightening and retroughion of wrinkles.

Before and aftercare microneedling

BEFORE:

  • take collagen supplements (available from us), you take these at least 4 weeks before your treatment and up to 3 months after the treatment
  • use SPF
  • Avoid sun, solarium or fake tan for 2 weeks before treatment
  • start collagen supplements at least 4 weeks before the RF Microneedling treatment, you can purchase these from us
  • If you have cold sores, start taking Aciclovir 200 mg 3 times a day at least 4 days before your session

NA:

  • take collagen supplements (available from us), you take these at least 4 weeks before your treatment and up to 3 months after the treatment
  • always use winter and summer SPF 50
  • up to 3 days after the treatment you will lubricate with an antibiotic ointment so that you do not get infections after the treatment
  • continue to take your collagen supplements for at least 3 months after your treatment
  • No swimming or strenuous exercise for 2 days after treatment
  • no makeup until the next day, we recommend waiting 3 days
  • if you "The Sarasin Glow" follow protocol, you will also be given a prescription for the ointment to use afterwards

Frequently asked questions Microneedling + RF

How does an RF Microneedling treatment proceed?

When the patient arrives, numbing ointment is applied to the treatment site. This ointment will take effect for 15-30 min. Then the skin will be disinfected. The practitioner will do some test shots first, to see to what energy is tolerable for the patient. Keep in mind, the higher the energy, the better the result!

What areas can be treated with RF Microneedling?

Any skin on the face and body can be treated. The most popular areas are the face, neck and décolleté.

What can you expect after an RF Microneedling treatment?

After the treatment, you may look red and swollen. This lasts for at least 3 hours and then subsides. The clear microchannels created by the treatment remain open for 4-6 hours. It is important that you apply an antibiotic cream after the treatment to avoid infection. You can choose a very intensive treatment or a less intensive treatment. The results are obviously better with the intensive treatment. It is a little more sensitive and the skin will be a little redder, BUT the results are all the better 🙂 .

When will I see results with fractionated RF?

Fractional RF patients often describe a glow on their skin from day one, but after 2 weeks they really begin to see the results. This will only increase over the next 3 months as collagen and elastin stimulation takes place!

Can RF Microneedling be used on darker skin types?

Most skin types can be treated including tanned skin and dark skin, i.e. from Fitzpatrick I-VI.

How many Microneedling + RF treatments do I need?

We recommend a package of 5 treatments, but a minimum of 3. After that, maintenance can be as often as you want. A minimum of twice a year is advised.
